Open Thread

I'm feeling pretty excited about the upcoming release of The Hunger Games movie.  I loved the books, and so far I've been enjoying the trailers.  I know it'll make a great movie, but then I remember I felt this way about another one of my favorite books: Eragon.  That movie was an absolute disaster, despite it being based on an amazing book, and having one of my favorite actors.  To me, it wasn't just a horrible adaptation of the book, it wasn't even passable as a movie.  As excited as I am for The Hunger Games, I'm also pretty nervous.  They could do great things with the movie, but they could also ruin it.  So I'm wondering, how does everyone else feel about book to movie adaptations?

First Photo

The stark silhouettes of trees
frame the sky.
The bristles of branches
brush the clouds.
Wind whispers lullabyes
and rocks the trees to sleep.
Light falls behind them.
The black bramble
cradles its purpling blanket
as Winter slips into dream.

First Post

Welcome to "What Comes Naturally!"  I'm starting this blog for a class called "Composing Cyberspace," but I'm hoping to keep it going after this semester.  We're allowed to make our blogs about anything we want (though I'm sure there will be the occasional post just for class purposes). As a writer I thought it would be fun to create something that could inspire writing. This will also be a good chance for me to post my own work and receive feedback. I personally find nature and photography to be very inspirational, so photos of nature are going to be a prominent display here.  Let these photos be your muse, and write what comes naturally!
